Cool Treats Stampin’ Up: Valentine’s Day Card #2

Cool Treats Stampin’ Up!

Yesterday, I showed you a traditional “hearts and doily” Valentine’s Day card using one of the designs from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack from Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Occasions Catalog.  Today’s card uses a paper design from the same pack of paper, but the card has a flirty and fun modern look.  The Cool Treats Stampin’ Up! Photopolymer Bundle is perfect to achieve this fun look!!

I love the fun polka dot design from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack!

It’s fun to make non-traditional Valentine’s Day cards because let’s face it, we don’t want everyone to be our Valentine, right?  Today’s “You’re Sweet” card is perfect to acknowledge the fun holiday without being too mushy or romantic.  In addition to a Valentine’s Day card, today’s card also showcases the prints included in the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack that don’t have anything to do with love or with Valentine’s Day.  Polka dots can be used for any occasion!

I love, love, love the stamp sets that are included in the new Cool Treats Photopolymer Stamp Set from the new 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.   I also love that it is sold as a bundle with the Frozen Treats Framelits Dies.  The stamp set has 36 stamps and the framelits has 17 dies.  That is a TON of stuff to use to create!!!!  When you purchase both as a bundle, you save 10%.  At $48.50, all you need to do is add some ribbon or adhesive and you’ll be at $50, which means you’ll qualify to order a  FREE item from the Sale-a-Bration brochure!  Woo hoo!

Don’t those scoops of ice cream look so yummy?!

Check out the little cherry!  It looks tedious to make, and I’ll be honest, at first it was.  However, I discovered a really easy technique that makes it a breeze to make the cherry.  Here is what you do:

  • stamp the red cherry, but don’t stamp the stem
  • use the cherry/stem die framelit die to cut the cherry/stem
  • color in the stem with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker

Yes, it’s that easy!  I used a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the cherry to the ice cream.
