Funeral Thank You Cards
Hi Friends! It’s been a while. It’s been a rough few months for me. My father passed away on Father’s Day, so for these past several weeks we have been trying to live through the grief. A few weeks ago, on the three-month anniversary of my father’s funeral, my cousin’s husband passed away suddenly in his sleep.
For those of you who have been through this before, you know that the funeral home provides families with a box of bulk thank you notes. It’s a thoughtful gesture, and it’s one less thing that the family has to think about. However, so many people went above and beyond to help us and I felt strongly that they deserved a higher-quality thank you card than the one provided by the funeral home.
For my dad’s thank you cards, I put out a call to my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators to see if they could possibly send me any handmade thank you notes that they had in their inventories. I was thrilled that they were kind enough to send me several.
When my cousin’s husband passed away, I spent the two days before our flight out for the services to make up several thank you cards for her to use. I knew she would feel the same way as I did about wanting to spend special cards to those who showed so much love and support.
You know from my previous posts how much I LOVE the Magnolia Lane Suite, (see my posts “Case the Catalog: Magnolia Lane Cards,” “Magnolia Lane Vellum Card,” “Quick and Easy Handmade Cards,” and “Magnolia Lane Memories and More Card“) so I gathered together all of my remaining scraps of the Designer Series Paper and the Magnolia Lane Memories and More Card Pack and made her a pack of “funeral thank you cards.
She was thrilled.
I’m planning of always having a pack of “funeral thank you cards” on-hand to give to my friends and family members for those times when a regular thank you card just isn’t enough.

Guess what??? My next post WON’T feature anything from the Magnolia Lane Suite!!! All new projects coming soon!!!
