Make Waves!! Swirly Scribbles Thinlits

Make Waves! Swirly Scribbles Thinlits

We enjoyed a fun 2016-17 Annual Catalog Launch Party on Friday night.  I promised my ladies that as part of the party, we would make four cards.  Naturally, I came down with cardmakers block – it’s a real thing, I tell ya! – and for the life of me I just couldn’t come up with a fourth design.  Finally, after several failed attempts at different designs, I decided to make waves with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and I settled on this card:

I use the phrase “make waves” because I made waves in more ways than one.  Not only did I use the thinlit to make literal waves on the card, but I also made waves within myself.  This card design is completley out of my comfort zone.  Nothing about the card is representative of my personal style, and frankly, I was afraid to present it!

Shame on me, though!  I decided that I wasn’t going to mention anything about the card during the party.  I just wanted to sit back and listen for the ladies’ reactions.  Guess what?  They loved it!  I’m so happy that I decided to “make waves!”

Another fun detail about this card is that the background paper with the stripes is from the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper.  How wonderful is it that these two completely different card creations were made using paper from the exact same package of paper?

So fun, right?!
