Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack I made two pocket cards with Stampin’ Up!’s new Sending Love Designers Series Paper Stack from the 2017 Occasions Catalog. Pocket cards are so fun to make! The Sending Love Designers Series Paper Stack is a great way to make a variety of Valentine’s Day cards because the stack contains 48 sheets of paper, 6 each of 8 double-sided designs. You can mix and match the designs to make several different cards and projects. Today’s card is a traditional “hearts and doily” Valentine’s Day card. Check back tomorrow for another fun card with a completely different look but made with paper from the same paper collection. You’ll be able to see the versatility in this great paper collection. Take a look at the different patterns: Here is a slideshow of the items used to create this Valentine’s Day pocket card. To purchase an item, just click the image and it will direct you to my online store. Be sure to check back tomorrow for the second pocket card design. You can slip a gift card or a candy bar inside the pocket card to add to the fun. Yummy!!!!
Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper It’s Sale-a-Bration time at Stampin’ Up!, so to celebrate, this week’s Stamp Review Crew feature was a free-for-all for the members of the Crew to come up with whatever we wanted to create with items from the Sale-a-Bration brochure. Coloring is such a fad right now, so I was thrilled when I saw the “Inside the Lines” Designer Series Paper that is offered as a free item during Sale-a-Bration with a $50 purchase. I haven’t personally jumped on the coloring trend because I find most of the pages too detailed for my liking. However, the “Inside The Lines Designer Series Paper” solves that problem for me. There are two paper designs with large images, and one paper design with lots of flowers that aren’t too small. It’s been a long time since I colored, and it was so relaxing. We just converted a bedroom into my craft room, and there was a tiny space on the wall that was screaming for a picture. I decided this section of design would be perfect. One important tip that I can offer when you color (in case it’s been years since you’ve colored, too!) is to start off by outlining each color section as shown below. By doing this, you will be able to avoid accidentally coloring parts of the picture the wrong color. Even though there are big areas to color on this design, there are some itty-bitty parts, too. By outlining, you’ll have a much better shot at getting it right! I am not an artist. I don’t know anything about shading and all of that artist stuff. I copied what I’ve seen others do by using light and dark shades on the same image, so I used the Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker to color the mountain tops, and the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker to color the mountains. You can purchase individual Stampin’ Write Markers or purchase the Many Marvelous Markers case, which includes all 38 colors in our color collections (except Whisper White and Very Vanilla) in one sturdy case and empty space to store the In-Color Markers.* Dual tipped markers: 0.5 mm fine point and flexible brush * Set of 38, packaged in rigid plastic case with handle * Includes colors from all 4 color collections (does not include Whisper White or Very Vanilla) * Odorless, water-based dye ink * Coordinate with Classic Stampin’ Pads and exclusive Stampin’ Up! cardstock If you purchase the case of Many Marvelous Markers for $110 during Sale-a-Bration, you will be able to select TWO free items from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure. Win/win!!!! I used various Stampin’ Write markers to color, but Stampin’ Up! offers other coloring tools. Use what you love and have fun coloring! Playful Pals Stamp Set Welcome! If you are following along with this week’s Stamp Review Crew “Playful Pals” stamp set review, you’ve arrived at my blog from Tanya’s blog. I really love the versatility of the 50 (yes, I said FIFTY!) stamps in the Playful Pals stamp set. Even though the stamps are intended to create animals, I wanted to come up with an alternate use. I looked at the images on the cover of the stamp set and thought that the pieces that are meant to be elephant ears also looked like angel wings. My daughter mentioned that the triangle shape would be perfect for the angel’s body. This card turned out to be one of my favorites of all time! In addition to the Playful Pals stamp set, I also used items from the new 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog. I especially love the sentiment, “Just a Note to Lift Your Spirits,” from the Lift Me Up stamp set in the new catalog. It’s such an appropriate saying to pair with the angel. I think the color combinations of Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Sweet Sugarplum, and Very Vanilla that are part of the Falling In Love Designer Series Paper are just heavenly! 🙂 You can view the paper HERE. I used the smallest pearls from the Pearl Basic Jewels to create a simple crown for the angel’s head. If you’ve looked at the Playful Pals stamp set in the catalog and thought it wasn’t for you, think again! With 50 different stamps, the possibilities of images that you can create are endless! Thanks for visiting! Be sure to subscribe to my blog to receive free email updates whenever I post a new project. What makes this year’s Sale-a-Bration even sweeter is that today also marks the start of the 2017 Occasions Catalog, and let me tell you, it is one of MY MOST FAVORITE catalogs ever! Today’s card features products from the Occasions Catalog and also the Carried Away DSP that is part of Sale-a-Bration. I love the “Just a Note to Lift Your Spirits” sentiment in the coordinating “Lift Me Up” stamp set. I know too many people who have been recently diagnosed with cancer, and this sentiment and card says it all. I’ll be making a bunch of them.
