Playful Pals Stamp Set Welcome! If you are following along with this week’s Stamp Review Crew “Playful Pals” stamp set review, you’ve arrived at my blog from Tanya’s blog. I really love the versatility of the 50 (yes, I said FIFTY!) stamps in the Playful Pals stamp set. Even though the stamps are intended to create animals, I wanted to come up with an alternate use. I looked at the images on the cover of the stamp set and thought that the pieces that are meant to be elephant ears also looked like angel wings. My daughter mentioned that the triangle shape would be perfect for the angel’s body. This card turned out to be one of my favorites of all time! In addition to the Playful Pals stamp set, I also used items from the new 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog. I especially love the sentiment, “Just a Note to Lift Your Spirits,” from the Lift Me Up stamp set in the new catalog. It’s such an appropriate saying to pair with the angel. I think the color combinations of Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Sweet Sugarplum, and Very Vanilla that are part of the Falling In Love Designer Series Paper are just heavenly! 🙂 You can view the paper HERE. I used the smallest pearls from the Pearl Basic Jewels to create a simple crown for the angel’s head. If you’ve looked at the Playful Pals stamp set in the catalog and thought it wasn’t for you, think again! With 50 different stamps, the possibilities of images that you can create are endless! Timeless Textures Stamp Set: Create Your Own Faux Designer Series Paper! Welcome, Stamp Review Crew Blog Hoppers! If you’re following along, you’ve arrived from Shana Gaff’s blog. I’m happy to share my creation for today’s hop using the Timeless Textures Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up! The nine stamps that are included in the Timeless Textures Clear Stamp Set are versatile, allowing you to create a variety of looks for your cards and projects. I’m sure you’ll see what I mean when you visit the other sites that are part of this blog hop. I wanted to create the appearance of a piece of Designer Series Paper on the “Hello” butterfly card I created, because let’s face it. Sometimes I just want a piece of DSP and I don’t have a certain design or a certain color. With some of the stamps in the Timeless Textures stamp set, you can create your OWN DSP! To do so, I used the Sahara Sand Classic Ink to stamp the Timeless Textures image on both sides of the card. Sahara Sand is one of the coordinating colors in the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper Pack. You can see that in addition to the butterfly, I used the Blooms and Bliss DSP as the bottom layer on the card. I have to admit that the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper didn’t really appeal to my personal taste at first, but I’m so glad I gave it a try! The same thing goes for the Timeless Textures Stamp Set; it’s not flashy and doesn’t contain cute little animals or flowers or sayings. However, take a look at the stamps that are included in the Timeless Textures Stamp Set so you can see for yourselves their versatility. Like I said, there are nine stamps in the set, and at only $20.00, that is about $2.00 per stamp. Wonderful! Thanks for hopping! The slideshow shows all of the products I used to create today’s “Hello” butterfly card. Click the buttons below the slideshow to go back to the previous blog and/or to hop to the next!
Jar of Love Stamp Set Welcome! I’m excited to announce that I have been accepted to participate in the Stamp Review Crew! The “Stamp Review Crew” is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who work together to bring you ideas using different stamp sets on the first and third Mondays of the month. Today’s Jar of Love Photopolymer Stamp Set card is my first for the “Stamp Review Crew,” and I’m excited to welcome new visitors to my blog! You can read more about me and my stamping endeavors on my About Me page. At the end of this post, you’ll see two buttons. One says”Next Blog,” which brings you to the next blog in the Stamp Review Crew’s Jar of Love Blog Hop. The other buttong says “Previous Blog,” which brings you to the blog that is right before mine in the Blog Hop. Blog Hops are fun and provide you with tons of ideas, so please follow along! Now…on to the card! Stampin’ Up!’s new Jar of Love Stamp Set reminds me of collecting fireflies on warm humid nights in New Jersey in the summertime. The Jar of Love Stamp Set and its coordinating Everyday Jars Framelits Dies are perfect for making cards and projects that elicit the same feelings of hominess that I feel whenever I see glass canning jars full of flowers, fruits and other delicious foods, or bugs like the fireflies I mentioned. Take a look at all of the stamps that are included in both the stamp set and the framelits set. They are such a value when you consider that the stamp set includes 37 (THIRTY SEVEN!) stamps for only $27.00! That’s less than $1.00 per stamp! The framelits set contains 17 dies for $33.00, which is about $2.00 per die. As if that weren’t enough of a value, guess what??? You can bundle (purchase both together) the stamp set AND the framelits and save 10%!! (For the bundle deal, order HERE.) The projects that you can create with these products are endless. Just change the Designer Series Paper and the color combinations that you incorporate into your project to change the look and feel of the stamp set. You can make Christmas projects, fall projects, little fishy projects, and on and on! In addition to the Jar of Love Stamp Set and the Everyday Jars Framelits Dies to create my card, I used the following supplies:
“June Cleaver” Card: Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper Today’s card was inspired by June Cleaver. Can you see why? I just love how this special card fold, combined with the lovely designs on the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper, work together with the metal-rimmed pearls to make this card look like a sweater and a blouse! It’s so fun to play around with paper and stamps and try to come up with creative ideas and different uses other than what was originally intended. Don’t you agree?! To make the collar fold, I used these measurements: on the 5-1/4″ side, measure over to 2-5/8″ from the 2-5/8″ point, cut down 2″ fold each corner into the center To make the neckline, I used a stamp from the Tin of Cards Photopolymer Stamp Set. I think it worked perfectly to create the illusion of a blouse. Here is a list of the supplies I used to create today’s “June Cleaver” card: Stay tuned for more cards using the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper! Washi Tape Card How-To It took me a little while to fall in love with washi tape, but now that I have, look out! Wahsi tape is another new obsession of mine! Take a look at my quick one minute video to see how easy it is to make a really cool card in no time with three strips of washi tape. I love the Night of Navy and Whisper White color combinations of the Florial Boutique Designer Series Paper, and the coordinating Floral Boutique Washi Tape that I used to make this butterfly “Just Because” card adds the perfect amount of dramatic effect and flair to any card or project. Here are some thumbnails of other cards I have made with washi tape: Take a look at a slideshow of all of the washi tape that Stampin’ Up! has available in the 2016-17 Annual Catalog: And last but not least, a slideshow of the products I used to create the “Just Because” card: I know, I know! It’s a lot of stuff, right? I agree! But it is so easy to accumulate everything on your wish list when you become a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator! Promise! You can start out by ordering $125 worth of products for only $99 with FREE SHIPPING! It really is a no-brainer! To find out more, click HERE.
Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper I have to admit that upon first glance, I decided that I wasn’t going to order the new Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper. The patterns just aren’t my style. However, I participated in a “paper share” with one of my customers and the Blooms & Bliss DSP was part of the share. I’m so glad I decided to start playing around with the paper! I created five different cards that I’ll be showing you over the next few weeks. I like the paper so much that I’m planning on ordering a full pack for myself. ( But I need to hurry and order it HERE, and so do you, because the Blooms and Bliss DSP has been selling like crazy and is about to go on back-order.) The Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper coordinating colors are Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Mint Macaron, Island Indigo, Blushing Bride, and Rich Razzleberry. Here is a look at the different patterns in the pack of paper. You receive two 12 x 12 sheets of each double-sided designs. I also want to point out two more fun aspects to this “Thinking of You” card. First, notice the little bling that I added to the right side of the card. (I had to get my bling in there somehow!) To add the individual sequins, I just pulled off a few sequins from the Bermuda Bay Sequins Trim and added them to the card with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. The look is very subtle but perfectly transforms the card from flowery to chic. Second, notice the “Thinking of You” stamp that I used as the sentiment. The stamp is from the “Pop of Paradise” stamp set. Most cards that I have seen using this stamp set are tropical since the set coordinates perfectly with the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper. I wanted to use the stamp set in a project that would highlight a different look, and I think the “Thinking of You” heart sentiment paired with the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper is a great combination! Here is a slideshow of the items I used to create today’s Blooms and Bliss “Thinking of You Card.” To order any of the items, just click on a slide and you will be directed to my online store.
