Stamp Review Crew:  Rose Wonder Stamp Set

stamp review crew rose wonder stamp set

Welcome!  If you are following along, you’ve arrived from Sue Plote’s blog.  Today’s Stamp Review Crew is all about one of my favorites!  The Rose Wonder Stamp Set has so many sentiments that you will definitely use this set all the time.

  • birthday
  • wedding
  • sympathy
  • thanks
  • friendship
  • encouragement

I’ve been in bed most of the week with the flu.  You know I’m really sick when I don’t feel up to stamping.  In fact, that is how my family gauges how sick I am – “is she stamping? no?  she must REALLY be sick!” Luckily, I created some cards with the Rose Wonder Stamp set a few months ago, so let’s revisit those cards today as part of this week’s Stamp Review Crew blog hop.

On the “Wedding Wishes” card, I embossed the sentiment to give the card bling.  But do you see what I mean?  Look at the variety of events that are covered with this set:

Not only is the Rose Wonder Stamp Set full of wonderful sentiments, it is a photopolymer set, which is my favorite type of stamp to use!  Why, you ask?

Photopolymer stamps:

* Are totally transparent for perfect image placement.
* Have just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time.
* Cling perfectly to Stampin’ Up!’s clear blocks so you don’t have to worry about slipping.
* Save space—you need only one set of blocks for all your photopolymer stamps (blocks sold separately).
* Come packaged in cases with images on the spine for easy storage and quick reference.

Another fabulous advantage to owning the Rose Wonder Stamp Set is that you can also purchase the coordinating Rose Garden Thinlits Dies. Win!

Friends!  If you’re following along with this week’s Stamp Review Crew , you’ve arrived here from Betty Traciak’s blog.  This weeks review focuses on the Lift Me Up Stamp Set from the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.  I LOVE this set!  Not only are the images and the sentiments wonderful and versatile, but the Lift Me Up stamp set has a coordinating Thinlits set, too!  The Up & Away Thinlits Dies can be purchased separately, or as a bundle with the Lift Me Up stamp set at a 10% discount.  Woo hoo!

The sentiments can be used for so many occasions, which makes the Lift Me Up stamp set such a great set to add to your collection.  Here are a few:

  • birthday
  • graduation
  • general congratulations
  • Valentines’ Day
  • weddings
  • sympathy
  • get well
  • thank you
  • thinking of you

My card today focuses on the “Love Is In the Air” sentiment to demonstrate that this saying can be used for a wedding shower card, a baby shower card, an engagement card, or an “I Love You” card.  So versatile!

Playful Pals Stamp Set

Playful Pals Stamp Set

Welcome!  If you are following along with this week’s Stamp Review CrewPlayful Pals” stamp set review, you’ve arrived at my blog from Tanya’s blog.

playful pals stamp set

I really love the versatility of the 50 (yes, I said FIFTY!) stamps in the Playful Pals stamp set.  Even though the stamps are intended to create animals, I wanted to come up with an alternate use.

I looked at the images on the cover of the stamp set and thought that the pieces that are meant to be elephant ears also looked like angel wings.  My daughter mentioned that the triangle shape would be perfect for the angel’s body.  This card turned out to be one of my favorites of all time!

In addition to the Playful Pals stamp set, I also used items from the new 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.  I especially love the sentiment, “Just a Note to Lift Your Spirits,” from the Lift Me Up stamp set in the new catalog.  It’s such an appropriate saying to pair with the angel.

playful pals stamp set

I think the color combinations of Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Sweet Sugarplum, and Very Vanilla that are part of the Falling In Love Designer Series Paper are just heavenly!  🙂  You can view the paper HERE.

I used the smallest pearls from the Pearl Basic Jewels to create a simple crown for the angel’s head.

If you’ve looked at the Playful Pals stamp set in the catalog and thought it wasn’t for you, think again!  With 50 different stamps, the possibilities of images that you can create are endless!

Timeless Textures Stamp Set:

Create Your Own Faux Designer Series Paper!

stampin up timeless textures stamp set

Welcome, Stamp Review Crew Blog Hoppers!  If you’re following along, you’ve arrived from Shana Gaff’s blog.  I’m happy to share my creation for today’s hop using the Timeless Textures Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!  The nine stamps that are included in the Timeless Textures Clear Stamp Set are versatile, allowing you to create a variety of looks for your cards and projects.  I’m sure you’ll see what I mean when you visit the other sites that are part of this blog hop.

I wanted to create the appearance of a piece of Designer Series Paper on the “Hello” butterfly card I created, because let’s face it.  Sometimes I just want a piece of DSP and I don’t have a certain design or a certain color. With some of the stamps in the Timeless Textures stamp set, you can create your OWN DSP!

To do so, I used the Sahara Sand Classic Ink to stamp the Timeless Textures image on both sides of the card. Sahara Sand is one of the coordinating colors in the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper Pack.  You can see that in addition to the butterfly, I used the Blooms and Bliss DSP as the bottom layer on the card.

I have to admit that the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper didn’t really appeal to my personal taste at first, but I’m so glad I gave it a try!  The same thing goes for the Timeless Textures Stamp Set; it’s not flashy and doesn’t contain cute little animals or flowers or sayings.  However, take a look at the stamps that are included in the Timeless Textures Stamp Set so you can see for yourselves their versatility.  Like I said, there are nine stamps in the set, and at only $20.00, that is about $2.00 per stamp.  Wonderful!

Thanks for hopping!  The slideshow shows all of the products I used to create today’s “Hello” butterfly card.  Click the buttons below the slideshow to go back to the previous blog and/or to hop to the next!

Jar of Love Stamp Set

jar of love stamp set

Welcome!  I’m excited to announce that I have been accepted to participate in the Stamp Review Crew! The “Stamp Review Crew” is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who work together to bring you ideas using different stamp sets on the first and third Mondays of the month.  Today’s Jar of Love Photopolymer Stamp Set card is my first for the “Stamp Review Crew,” and I’m excited to welcome new visitors to my blog!

You can read more about me and my stamping endeavors on my About Me page.  At the end of this post, you’ll see two buttons.  One says”Next Blog,” which brings you to the next blog in the Stamp Review Crew’s Jar of Love Blog Hop.  The other buttong says “Previous Blog,” which brings you to the blog that is right before mine in the Blog Hop.  Blog Hops are fun and provide you with tons of ideas, so please follow along!  Now…on to the card!

Stampin’ Up!’s new Jar of Love Stamp Set reminds me of collecting fireflies on warm humid nights in New Jersey in the summertime.  The Jar of Love Stamp Set and its coordinating Everyday Jars Framelits Dies are perfect for making cards and projects that elicit the same feelings of hominess that I feel whenever I see glass canning jars full of flowers,  fruits and other delicious foods, or bugs like the fireflies I mentioned.

Take a look at all of the stamps that are included in both the stamp set and the framelits set.  They are such a value when you consider that the stamp set includes 37 (THIRTY SEVEN!) stamps for only $27.00!  That’s less than $1.00 per stamp!  The framelits set contains 17 dies for $33.00, which is about $2.00 per die.  As if that weren’t enough of a value, guess what???  You can bundle (purchase both together) the stamp set AND the framelits and save 10%!!  (For the bundle deal,  order HERE.)  The projects that you can create with these products are endless.  Just change the Designer Series Paper and the color combinations that you incorporate into your project to change the look and feel of the stamp set.  You can make Christmas projects, fall projects, little fishy projects, and on and on!

In addition to the Jar of Love Stamp Set and the Everyday Jars Framelits Dies to create my card, I used the following supplies:

Washi Tape Card How-To

Washi Tape Card How-To

It took me a little while to fall in love with washi tape, but now that I have, look out!  Wahsi tape is another new obsession of mine!  Take a look at my quick one minute video to see how easy it is to make a really cool card in no time with three strips of washi tape.

I love the Night of Navy and Whisper White color combinations of the Florial Boutique Designer Series Paper, and the coordinating Floral Boutique Washi Tape that I used to make this butterfly “Just Because” card adds the perfect amount of dramatic effect and flair to any card or project.

Rose Wonder Stamp Set

Rose Wonder Stamp Set

I mentioned in my previous post that the Rose Wonder Stamp Set makes a wonderful addition to your stamping collection because of the many different sentiments that are included in the set.  Today’s card uses the “Happy Birthday” stamp and the Detailed Floral Thinlits, along with a piece of Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper.

rose wonder stamp set

If you are looking for a go-to stamp set that you can use for a variety of cards and projects, the Rose Wonder Stamp Set is the stamp set for you.  In addition to birthdays, it covers sympathy, weddings, thank you, friendship, and encouragement.  When you pair the stamp set with the coordinating Rose Garden Thinlits Dies, you can add dimension to your projects, too.  However, I changed things up a bit today and used the intricate images from the Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies.  No matter what you use to make your cards, be sure to have the Rose Wonder Stamp Set in your collection so that you can grab the right stamp for whatever occasion you need!

Let’s revisit the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper, too.  I love how the paper is versatile enough to make cards with completely different looks:

Rose Garden Thinlits

Rose Garden Thinlits

I’m so glad I decided to purchase the Rose Garden Thinlits and the coordinating Rose Wonder Stamp Set!  It took me awhile to figure out how to incorporate the rose images into my card-making style, but today’s card represents me in a lot of ways.

rose garden thinlits

I love layers and I loved layering the die-cut roses for today’s card.  I think the layers give the card the right dramatic presence that I aim to provide with each card I make.  Why be dull and boring when you can be chic and dramatic, right?!  That’s how I like to approach my card designs and my fashion choices.  I wouldn’t normally choose flowers and roses in my outfit choices, but I could make both things work with the right accessories.  I feel like I was able to fall in love with the Rose Garden Thinlits because I was able to incorporate the coordinating colors of the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper with the die-cut roses and the fun little pearl.  The deep shade of purple spoke to me, too.  (As a lifelong Donny Osmond fan, I love anything purple! Plus, the outfit that I wore to church on Sunday reminds me of this card.)

rose garden thinlits

Speaking of being dramatic, Sahara Sand is the brown tone that officially coordinates with the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper, but I chose to use the richer tones of Tip Top Taupe for my card base and for one of the rose dies. And speaking of the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper, be sure to check out this post where I specifically feature the Blooms and Bliss DSP.

The Rose Garden Thinlits and the coordinating Rose Wonder Stamp Set are great additions to your stamping collection. Not only can you die cut the rose images, you can also die cut leaves and the frame for the sentiment. Speaking of the sentiment, look at all of the different occasions that the stamp set covers:
