Craft Room Reveal!

Craft Room Reveal! Friends!  Welcome to my Ikea craft room reveal!!!  (not sponsored!)  We’ve lived in our home for 22 years, and for the past 14 of those years I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  I started off with a few baskets to hold my supplies, grew into an armoire in the dining room, moved to a sectioned-off area in the family room, and now, FINALLY, I’ve arrived!!!!   Goals: keep the room available for multi-generational visits (a.k.a.  a bed for my daughter – whose bedroom it was until she moved to college – and her future husband and kids) an area for photos and videos everything in arm’s reach have a place to display our American Girl dolls How I Achieved My Goals: install a Murphy bed with shelves and drawers for sleepover purposes install desk space long enough to have room for stamping, die-cutting, and sewing install wall shelves to hold card stock and the items I use every day One wall is dedicated to the bed, American Girl dolls, and my card rack:     There is a dedicated space under the window for photos and videos.  I found the table at Goodwill (I wasn’t even looking for it) for six bucks.     I made room for the printer and I have a dedicated space for die-cutting and sewing:     Most importantly, the stamping area!      Let me break down the different features: I had all of the bins and baskets.  To make the space less cluttered, I spray-painted all of the items white. We purchased the shelves at Lowe’s.  Floating shelves would have been cooler, but they would not have been functional.  Crafting is a fluid way of life…supplies are always changing and coming and going.  As a result, I needed shelves that I would be able to adjust based on my products.  Floating shelves are stationary, so they aren’t useful to a craft room. The key for my craft room was to make the wall space functional.  I needed to preserve the floor space for the queen Murphy bed, so by using the wall space, the floor space is open. Here are the Ikea items I used.  These items are a tad bit more expensive than the storage units you can purchase at hobby stores, but the quality is far superior.     I’d love to see how you organize your crafting space!  Share a link to your blog below so we can see where you create!! P.S.  Now that my craft room dream has come true, does that mean I can delete my “Craft Room Ideas” Pinterest board???

Stampin Up Cool Treats

Stampin Up Cool Treats I know the chances are pretty high that it’s probably snowing wherever you are now.  The last thing you want to think about is a cool treat when all you want is a nice hot cup of cocoa!  But since I showed you how you could use the Stampin’ Up! Cool Treats bundle in the Valentine’s Day card I made yesterday, I wanted to show you a little tip today.  It only takes about a minute, and it will make your ice cream scoops and popsicles look really yummy!! Take a look at my short video to see how I used a Stampin’ Sponge and the Peekaboo Peach In-Color Classic Pad to make the scoop of ice cream really “pop.” Like I stated in the video, this technique isn’t limited to the ice cream dies.  You can use the Stampin’ Sponges and ink to hide oops and add dimension to any die-cut shape.  It’s easy and makes your shapes look even better! Here is a closer look at the scoops.  Notice the darker edges. To order any of the supplies I used to make this card, click on the photo in the slide show below to visit my online store.  Thanks for looking! Cool Treats bundle, so I’m sure I’ll be making many more cards!!

Cool Treats Stampin’ Up: Valentine’s Day Card #2

Cool Treats Stampin’ Up! Yesterday, I showed you a traditional “hearts and doily” Valentine’s Day card using one of the designs from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack from Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Occasions Catalog.  Today’s card uses a paper design from the same pack of paper, but the card has a flirty and fun modern look.  The Cool Treats Stampin’ Up! Photopolymer Bundle is perfect to achieve this fun look!! I love the fun polka dot design from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack! It’s fun to make non-traditional Valentine’s Day cards because let’s face it, we don’t want everyone to be our Valentine, right?  Today’s “You’re Sweet” card is perfect to acknowledge the fun holiday without being too mushy or romantic.  In addition to a Valentine’s Day card, today’s card also showcases the prints included in the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack that don’t have anything to do with love or with Valentine’s Day.  Polka dots can be used for any occasion! I love, love, love the stamp sets that are included in the new Cool Treats Photopolymer Stamp Set from the new 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog.   I also love that it is sold as a bundle with the Frozen Treats Framelits Dies.  The stamp set has 36 stamps and the framelits has 17 dies.  That is a TON of stuff to use to create!!!!  When you purchase both as a bundle, you save 10%.  At $48.50, all you need to do is add some ribbon or adhesive and you’ll be at $50, which means you’ll qualify to order a  FREE item from the Sale-a-Bration brochure!  Woo hoo! Don’t those scoops of ice cream look so yummy?! Check out the little cherry!  It looks tedious to make, and I’ll be honest, at first it was.  However, I discovered a really easy technique that makes it a breeze to make the cherry.  Here is what you do: stamp the red cherry, but don’t stamp the stem use the cherry/stem die framelit die to cut the cherry/stem color in the stem with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Marker Yes, it’s that easy!  I used a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the cherry to the ice cream. Below is a slide show of all the items I used to create this adorable card.  Click on an image in the slide show to link to my online store.  Be sure to subscribe to receive email updates whenever I post a new project.  It’s free, and all you have to do is enter your email address in the box at the top of my sidebar. Thanks for visiting!
