My husband has been asking me for awhile now to make a set of thank you notes for him that he can have on-hand to send to his clients. He would like something more personal than ordinary tacky store-bought cards, and he happens to know someone who makes cards for a living. 😉 But as the story goes, the shoemaker’s children never have shoes, and in this case, the card maker’s husband never has cards. Until now!
I made this fun stationery box with matching thank you notes and coordinating envelopes. It was so easy and fun to make! (I will post a free tutorial later this week. In the meantime, please subscribe to receive blog updates by email by registering for free at the top right of my sidebar so you won’t miss it!) The box is masculine enough for my husband to keep the on his desk. He can just grab a card when he needs one.
It has always been a challenge for me to make masculine cards, but with the 2014-2016 In-Colors from Stampin’ Up! and the retiring Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack from the current 2014-2015 Annual Idea Book and Catalog, it is was breeze to whip up cards appropriate for men. I used the “Thank You” stamp from the Everyday Occasions Cardmaking Kit, but any stamp will do. Be sure to order both items right away, because after June 2nd they will be gone for good when they retire. (boo-hoo!)
Don’t you just love the shirt on the outside of the box? It was so fun to make. I love the little pocket-protector, which I made with the end of the Word Window Punch.
In addition to the cute shirt, my favorite part of this masculine stationery box are the cards themselves and the coordinating envelope liners. The Paper Stack is sized at 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″. All I had to do was trim the 6-1/2″ side down to 6″ and use the Envelope Liners Framelits Die to make the liners.

Make sure you order the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack now before it retires on June 2nd so you will receive it in time to make this Masculine Stationery Box in time for Father’s Day.

I came up with a really fun way to store the scraps that you will have left over when you trim the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack down to 6″ for the envelope liners. Just use a Standard Clear-Mount Stamp Case! Look! The case is the perfect size to hold not only the scraps, but the Paper Stack, too.
this would look great on my desk. I would need it in different colors to match my office decor, is that possible?
Thanks for your comment! Yes, it can be customized.
