top 5 picks from the stampin up clearance rack

Take a look at my top 5 picks from the Stampin’ Up! Clearance Rack.  New items were added today from the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  Be sure to order the items right away, because once they sell out, they are gone for good.  Be sure to also check out the slideshow at the bottom of this post to view ALL of the Clearance Rack items.  There are many more items than just my top 5 pick.

#1:  To You and Yours Shaker Card Kit  was $24.00 | now only $9.60

#2:  Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit  was $21 | now only $8.40

#3:  Hello December 2015 Project Life Accessory Pack was $15 | now $6

#4:  Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Project Life Card Collection was $16 | now $6.40

#5:  Real Red Pom Pom Trim was $6.00 | now $2.40

Before you freak out and say to yourself, “All of this is Christmas stuff!” just think back to the start of the Christmas season and remember how excited you were when you promised yourself that THIS would be the year when you would get everything done without being stressed.  Then think back to the middle of Christmas season when panic set in and you realized that your plan failed.  You can conquer the failure by ordering my top 5 picks from the Stampin’ Up! Clearance Rack.  Why?  Let me tell you.

  • You can read about the features and benefits of the To You & Yours Shaker Card Kit HERE, and see examples of cards you can quickly assemble with the leftovers HERE, HERE, and HERE.  You will be a rock star when your friends receive these cards in the mail.  You can also give the kit as a gift to the card making lovers in your life.
  • Who doesn’t want to open a present with the a tag from the Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit?  What I love most about these fun Christmas tags is that you can add them to small gifts and gift bags that otherwise wouldn’t make a great first impression and turn what at first glance looks like an underwhelming gift into the first gift your friends want to open.
  • I have included both the Hello December 2015 Project Life Accessory Pack  (just cut out the “2015”) and the Seasonal Snapshot 2015 Project Life Card Collection for the same reason.  Each kit provides enough materials for you to quickly assemble not only scrapbooks, but also fun greeting cards.  It takes no time to cut and score card stock and use the items in both of these kits to put together cute Christmas cards.
  • Do I even need to explain why you need the Real Red Pom Pom Trim?  I mean just look at how adorable it is!  Use it to wrap presents, string it up and use our Mini Metallic Clothespins to hang up your Christmas cards, or use it as an embellishment on your cards.  And hey, its’ red, so you can also use it for Valentine’s Day and Fourth of July projects!

Here is a look at ALL of the Clearance Rack items.  Have fun shopping!!

For the first time, Stampin’ Up! has published the items from the current 2015 Holiday Catalog that will NOT be returning.  Click HERE to see the myriad of wonderful items that will be retiring for good once the Holiday Catalog sales period ends or once the items sell out.  You can take a look at my Portfolio page to see some of the fun items you can create with the items in the Holiday Catalog.  I’m sad that some of my favorites won’t be returning, but that just means that there will be room for many more great products in January 2016 when the new Occasions Catalog goes live.

Speaking of the new Occasions Catalog, guess what?  I have a copy in my hot little hands!  On Saturday, I had the opportunity to join nearly 400 other demonstrators at Stampin’ Up!’s OnStage Local event in Tampa, Florida.  It was a great day!  Even though the number of attendees may sound small, it was actually a huge event!  It was Stampin’ Up!’s first ever GLOBAL event.  The main “convention” was held in Brussels, Belgium, but because of modern-day technology, the event was broadcast to eleven other locations around the globe where Stampin’ Up! demonstrators gathered to watch, listen, learn, and have a blast!

I can’t show you any of the upcoming products that will be offered in the new Occasions Catalog just yet, but let me just say that you’ll want to act TODAY and take advantage of one of this week’s WEEKLY DEALS before they end tonight.  Just trust me and buy the Festive Flower Builder Punch, okay?  You are going to DIE when you see what is in store for that little punch!  You won’t believe how ADORABLE it is…(You can order it HERE.)

Finally, a special shout-out of thanks for all of your support and encouragement during my quest for the 2016 Artisan Design Team.  There’s always next year!  Also, a  special thanks to my daughters for reminding me of THIS ARTICLE of encouragement that I once wrote on their behalf about an important lesson we can ALL learn from Halle Berry.

Card-Maker’s Block

We’ve all heard of writer’s block.  We know it’s a real thing.  But have you ever heard of card-maker’s block?  It’s a real thing, too.  I know because I have experienced it.  It happened to me yesterday.  I couldn’t come up with anything.  Everything I tried turned out disastrous.

I’m embarrassed to show you.  However, I thought it would be fun to do a post of my mishaps.  I was trying to engineer windows that would pull open to reveal a cozy indoor fireplace scene.  No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t figure out how to get the window on the left side to swing open.  I refused to YouTube it because I was determined to figure it out for myself.  (I’m stubborn that way sometimes.)  I gave up.  What was supposed to be a pull-out card with a fireplace scene using the Festive Fireplace Stamp Set, turned out to be a jeweled gold window winter scene.  Go figure.

I trashed the swinging window idea.  I was second-guessing myself the entire time I was making this card.  My mind was playing tricks on me!  Who has a gold window frame?  Stars in the sky aren’t gold.  What does the jeweled-toned piece of paper from the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper have to do with a quaint outdoorsy winter theme?  How can I make a card without embellishments?  What?  No ribbon??

To calm myself down, I made a standard size card and added a piece of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon.

And then the mind games started all over again.  No sentiment?  Did I add too much “snow?”  You get the idea.

I finished it all off by eating a bowl of ice cream and I felt much better.  The end.

Isn’t the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder the best?  I love how it can be spooky for Halloween and peaceful for Christmas. Christmas is such a busy time and it is always handy to have a few extra cards on hand for last minute gift-giving.  Make these cards with the extra Christmas tree stickers and you can bundle them and give the cards as a gift or attach them to a fun gift bag.  The possibilities are endless!
