Good Vibes Project Life You can make a gorgeous greeting card in a snap with the Good Vibes Project Life Card Collection and Good Vibes Project Life Accessory Pack from Stampin’ Up! When I say “in a snap,” I mean it! I made both of these cards in under five minutes with items from the Accessory Pack. Take a look and be sure to make note of that adorable little stamp set that is included in the Accessory Pack!!! Emojis!! Project Life is meant to be a fun and easy way to scrapbook your memories, but since I’m not a scrapbooker, I found that Project Life is perfect for cardmakers, too. (Check out my post where I discuss making cards with Project Life.) For the “Life Is Lovely” card, all I had to do was trim the white overlay to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and adhere it to the Flirty Flamingo cardstock. I used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the sequence, and BAM! The card was finished! To create the “So Perfect” card, I scored one end of the white overlay so that the overall length was 5-1/4″ and I used the fabulous washi tape that is included in the Good Vibes Project Life Accessory Pack to keep the scored piece in place. Seriously, SO PERFECT and seriously SO EASY! The new 2016-17 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog has a plethora of Project Life Card Collections and Accessory Packs to fit a variety of occassions. You can view all of the offerings on my Stampin’ Up! ordering page. Below is a slideshow of the supplies I used to create these two fun and easy cards.
Make Waves! Swirly Scribbles Thinlits We enjoyed a fun 2016-17 Annual Catalog Launch Party on Friday night. I promised my ladies that as part of the party, we would make four cards. Naturally, I came down with cardmakers block – it’s a real thing, I tell ya! – and for the life of me I just couldn’t come up with a fourth design. Finally, after several failed attempts at different designs, I decided to make waves with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and I settled on this card: I use the phrase “make waves” because I made waves in more ways than one. Not only did I use the thinlit to make literal waves on the card, but I also made waves within myself. This card design is completley out of my comfort zone. Nothing about the card is representative of my personal style, and frankly, I was afraid to present it! Shame on me, though! I decided that I wasn’t going to mention anything about the card during the party. I just wanted to sit back and listen for the ladies’ reactions. Guess what? They loved it! I’m so happy that I decided to “make waves!” _________________ Another fun detail about this card is that the background paper with the stripes is from the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper. How wonderful is it that these two completely different card creations were made using paper from the exact same package of paper? So fun, right?!
2016-18 In-Colors from Stampin’ Up! Take a look at the five new 2016-18 In-Colors from Stampin’ Up! Aren’t these new colors delicious? I thought this scoop of ice cream card using the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set was a great way to show you all of the new colors at once. Take a look: Don’t the In-Colors make you want to have a huge bowl of sherbet? (Did you know it is spelled “sherBET” and not “sherBERT”??? Who knew? I’ve been spelling it and pronouncing it wrong my entire life.) Anyway, with names like Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum, along with Dapper Denim, Flirty Flamingo, and Emerald Envy, the new 2016-18 are sure to become fast favorites of yours. The best way to experience the new In-Colors is just like I did by purchasing the 2016-2018 In Colors Designer Series Paper Stack. The stack contains 40 sheets of 12 x 12 paper in all five of the new In-Colors. There are four sheets each of two double-sided designs, so there are plenty of pieces to complete your projects. For my yummy card, I also used some of the new In-Color cardstock. Coordinating products is one of the greatest benefits of purchasing Stampin’ Up! products. Take a look at the circles in the center. I have a few blog posts planned to talk about the fabulous new Layering Circle Framelits Dies. They are so wonderful that they deserve their own post. (You can see another example of the Layering Circle Framelits Dies in my Pop of Paradise post.) Now go grab yourself some sherBET and have fun using the new 2016-18 In-Colors!
Pop of Paradise My oldest daughter Adrienne has been obsessed with flamingos forever. From a flamingo wallet to a flamingo shower curtain, she has it all. She was absolutely thrilled when I showed her the new Pop of Paradise stamp set from the new Stampin’ Up! 2016-17 Annual Catalog. She is smitten. Look at the fun images in the Pop of Paradise stamp set: Don’t you just want to have a tropical party? I love when I can look at a stamp set and the images immediately put me in a certain mood. I just want to go outside with a fun tropical (non-alcoholic) drink and lay by the pool and soak up the sun! I can just feel the tropical breeze and smell of coconut oil, can’t you? Luckily, I live in paradise and I can look out my window and see palm trees every day! I wanted to create a card that also created a certain mood, but I didn’t want the card to be too frilly. I wanted a chic flamingo to go along with Stampin’ Up!’s new Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper that has a combination of Basic Black, Melon Mambo, and Whisper White colors. I added a piece of Gold Foil and a bow along with a few gold sequins to really add a high-fashion statement to the card. Sometimes I like cards that don’t have a sentiment. With this design using the Pop of Paradise stamp set and the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper, this card has limitless potential! Take a look at all of the fun new products I used to create this chic flamingo card:
Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies Today is the first day of summer for the rest of the world, but where I live in south Florida, we experience summer year-round. Not only does summer equal fun in the sun, but summer also means weddings! We have already attended three weddings and we have two more to go. I created today’s wedding card using Stampin’ Up!’s new Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies. I love these new floral dies! Look at how gorgeous they are. It’s like creating your own doilies. They might just be my most favorite Stampin’ Up! Thinlits Dies ever. In addition to the dies, I love the coordinating Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper. I don’t think I have ever created a card using the navy and white color scheme. Just look at the details in the dies! They are super easy to create using the Big Shot and the Precision Base Plate. The Precision Base Plate is a must with intricate dies like the Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies. The Precision Base Plate makes the detailed cuts with ease and makes it easy for the tiny pieces to pop right out. In addition to using navy and white, I also used a technique that I haven’t used in ages: heat embossing. Look closely at the “Wedding Wishes” sentiment. I used silver embossing powder and the heat tool to create the embossed tag. (The sentiment is from the fabulous Rose Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set and the tag is a die from the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies. All items are pictured below and are available to order. Just click on the pictures.) I hope you enjoy your first days of summer and that you create some fabulous wedding cards with your Stampin’ Up! products!
Pyramid Pals Star Have you seen the Pyramid Pals Thinlits Dies? You might think that the Pyramid Pals Thinlits Dies and the coordinating Playful Pals Photopolymer Stamp Set are just for creating cards and projects for kids. Wrong! Did you know that you can make a Pyramid Pals star? I love to use Stampin’ Up! products to create out-of-the-box projects and the Pyramid Pals Thinlits shapes really spurred my creative juices. I used the new Flirty Flamingo Designer Series Paper from the 2016-2018 In-Color Designer Series Paper Pack to create five pyramids. I attached the pyramids together on the inside with Tear and Tape Adhesive, added some crinkly paper and a candle. and that was all! It was so, so easy. SO easy, in fact, that I am going to keep this project in my memory bank to create for my daughters’ bridal showers and/or weddings. (NO! They are nowhere near getting married, I just have OCD.) Wouldn’t they be perfect table decorations? You can also punch a tiny hole in the top of one of the points and hang a bunch of starts along a string or from the ceiling. There are so many possibilities! Don’t let the true intention of Stampin’ Up! products limit your creative ideas. When I first saw the Pyramid Pals Thinlits Dies and the coordinating Playful Pals Photopolymer Stamp Set I quickly turned the page because I didn’t think I would have any use for a juvenile stamp set. I was wrong! It was a real challenge to photograph the star to get the true Flirty Flamingo color. I encourage you to take a look at the professional photographs in the 2016-17 Annual Catalog (I can mail you one if you would like – just leave a comment) and the slide show below to get a better taste of the beautiful new Flirty Flamingo products.
