Pop of Paradise from Stampin’ Up!

Pop of Paradise My oldest daughter Adrienne has been obsessed with flamingos forever.  From a flamingo wallet to a flamingo shower curtain, she has it all.  She was absolutely thrilled when I showed her the new Pop of Paradise stamp set from the new Stampin’ Up! 2016-17 Annual Catalog.  She is smitten.   Look at the fun images in the Pop of Paradise stamp set:   Don’t you just want to have a tropical party?  I love when I can look at a stamp set and the images immediately put me in a certain mood.  I just want to go outside with a fun tropical (non-alcoholic) drink and lay by the pool and soak up the sun!  I can just feel the tropical breeze and smell of coconut oil, can’t you?  Luckily, I live in paradise and I can look out my window and see palm trees every day! I wanted to create a card that also created a certain mood, but I didn’t want the card to be too frilly.  I wanted a chic flamingo to go along with Stampin’ Up!’s new Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper that has a combination of Basic Black, Melon Mambo, and Whisper White colors.  I added a piece of Gold Foil and a bow along with a few gold sequins to really add a high-fashion statement to the card.   Sometimes I like cards that don’t have a sentiment.  With this design using the Pop of Paradise stamp set and the Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper, this card has limitless potential!  Take a look at all of the fun new products I used to create this chic flamingo card:

Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set

Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set I’m so thrilled that Stampin’ Up!’s Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set will NOT be retiring at the end of the catalog order period on May 31st.  Woo hoo!  That means we all get at least another year to create cards and projects with the deliciously delightful images in the Sprinkles of Life set.  Three items that will be retiring on May 31st, however, are the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper, the Pool Party Glitter Ribbon, and the Dazzling Details Glitter Adhesive that I used to create this adorably yummy card.      I’m also thrilled that the Tree Builder Punch, which I used to punch out the scoops of ice cream, will be back in the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog.  I don’t know about you, but I eat ice cream EVERY DAY…it is my main source of nourishment!  Anything that has to do with ice cream makes me happy, so the fact that we get to use the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set for one more year is wonderful news! If you love, love, love the delicious color combinations of Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Watermelon Wonder, and Whisper White that coordinate with the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper, be sure to order of few packs of the paper before the end of the month.  Here are a few more cards that I made with the Birthday Bouquet Paper:                      …and the Tree Builder Punch… …and the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set: Off to eat some ice cream..with a cupcake!!!  🙂 Supply List:

Bookmark Card Template and Tutorial

Bookmark Card Template and Tutorial My last post was full of pictures of a bookmark card that I created several years ago.  Today’s post includes the bookmark card template and tutorial.  Even though it’s Template Tuesday, I’m providing the template to all of my readers today, not just my email subscribers.  To get started, you’ll want to watch the video, download the template, and most of all…have fun!   ________________________________ 1)  download the template HERE 2)  cut the bookmark case 4-1/4″ x 7-3/4″ 3)  score the case at 2″ and 4″ 4)  cut the bookmark piece 1-7/8″ x 7-3/4″ 5)  I also used the following supplies: _____________________________________ I’ve created different versions of this card over the years.  This slider bookmark card is sized differently, but the overall concept is the same as the card in the YouTube video.   You can see a larger version using Stampin’ Up!’s Sprinkles of Life stamp set HERE, along with a tutorial that includes the different measurements.

Bookmark Card

Bookmark Card I created the custom template for this fun bookmark card almost ten years ago.  Over the years, I have played around with different versions of it (like the one HERE, which uses the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set.)  I usually make cards are projects that are bold and brightly colored, but I decided to go with a softer look and feel for today’s card. This card does what its name implies:  it’s a bookmark and a card.  Just pull out the slider and write your sentiment on the back! Precision is really important with this card, so it’s not for the faint of heart.  But you can do it!  I’m in the process of making a step-by-step video how-to.  I’ll update this post as soon as the video is completed.  In the meantime, I wanted to post the pictures while I’m busy behind-the-scenes working on the tutorial.  Here is what you’ll need: Go to my sidebar and enter to receive free email updates whenever I post a new blog entry.  That way you’ll know when I update with the video and whenever I post something new.

Party Wishes Stamp Set

Party Wishes Stamp Set Look at the fun card you can create with the Party Wishes Stamp Set from the It’s My Party Collection in the 2016 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog!  Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who attended the Fall 2015 OnStage Global Event created the first part of the card – the Designer Series Paper, the Happy Birthday sentiment, the punched balloon, cupcakes, and candle, and the Baker’s Twine – during one of the event presentations.  When I returned home, I added what we created to the Mint Macaron card stock to finish off the project. You’ll notice that I used the Large Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to add dimension and texture to the Mint Macaron card base.  (Take a look at the Confetti Textured Impressions Embossing Folder that is part of the It’s My Party Suite on the card I showed you yesterday HERE.  Dimension on a card is fabulous, isn’t it?!) In my post yesterday, I also mentioned that one of the reasons why I love the Party Wishes Stamp Set and the entire It’s My Party Collection is because the images, patterns, and colors are perfect for creating unisex birthday cards.  I made today’s card a little more feminine by adding half of a Tea Lace Paper Doily to the bottom of the card to show you an easy alternative. Let’s talk about the adorable cupcakes, balloons, and candle, shall we???  How cute are they?!?!?!?!  I love them! After I stamped the images, I used the corresponding punches from the Party Punch Pack (sold in a bundle with the Party Wishes Stamp Set HERE) to punch them.  I love, love, love these new punches!  You’ll notice that the punches punch the exact size of each image – there is NO border!  You get a perfectly punched image every time without having to worry about making sure the border is even around the entire image.  Yea!! NOW is the time to order the products in the It’s My Party Collection!  For every $50 you spend, you can order FREE Stampin’ Up! products from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure.  Woo Hoo!!!  Free stuff!!

Itty Bitty Accents Punch

Itty Bitty Accents Punch I showed you in my last post HERE how to maker shaker card filler with the star punch from Stampin’ Up!’s Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. Today, I’m going to show you how to add pizzazz to your card with the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  This is the fifth and final card in my Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper Pack Series and even though the pattern of today’s paper is pretty plain, you can see that you can easily jazz up the print by adding some small flowers.  (The Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper is only available for a limited time as part of Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-Bration promotion.) This card took me about five minutes to make, which means that not only will it be easy for you to make, but you can also make a stack of them because one can never have too many thank you notes, right?! For the center of the flowers, I used the 1/4″ handheld punch.  In addition to the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack flowers, you’ll also want to add a fun sentiment from the Hello You Thinlits Dies.            You’ll need a Big Shot and Magnetic Platform for the Thinlits Dies.  If you don’t own these items, NOW is the time to purchase them!  You can purchase them as a regular order, OR you can purchase them for only $99 as part of Stampin’ Up!’s current Sale-a-Bration Promotion!!  You can get $155 worth of Stampin’ Up! products for only $99 and FREE SHIPPING!!!!  There is no obligation to ever purchase anything ever again.  However, as a demonstrator, you’ll be able to save on Stampin’ Up! merchandise and receive all of the other wonderful benefits of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  I have been a demonstrator for 13-1/2 years and I have enjoyed every single second.
